Great deal, I want to try making one. Going to make one that powers the vehicle and a generator in case of an emergency.

Glad to see you in potatoes, we here in Idaho are known for potatoes!

Hi, everyone , I m really glad for being given the chance to tell you that I really do appreciate what you are doing . Here in Algeria , where I live oil prices are very low maybe one of the cheapest gas prices in the whole planet , but still I m interested in green energy , I wish to make my car run on wood gas just like you did , not for fun but because I believe it is the energy of the future . One day there will be no more oil on this planet and I m sure lucky those who can still have a ride . So I encourage you to go on ahead and keep up the good work .
sincerely yours Mounib from Algeria

Hi
apologies for the english. Although of Scandinavian descent I only speak/write in English.
I run a small timber yard in Devon and have no mains power. I have watched your films with interest and am no stranger to making my own equipment. I have a Toyota 4Y engine similar to the one in the Hilux which you helped out in the UK and plan to run a 20 kva generator for my house and barn system using woodgas from my waste. I would very much like to meet up with you guys at some point to talk about this, but for now is there any advice on type of gasification boiler to build? Your photo blog on http://www.vedbil.se/dagbok/mera/5e.shtml is very helpful. I will be in Denmark this summer. Is there a chance we could meet up?

All the best, your work is inspirational.

I have been reading your blog, and really enjoy your hard work . I have been working on my wood gas unit for three years. Do you have suggestions for moisture problems? I noticed you had a meeting for gasifier enthusiasts. Can anyone attend? Could you share details? Thank you so much.

Hallo,

Veldig bra prosjekt.

Hello,
Sorry, I don't speak Swedish!! You have done some fascinating work and I applaud your ingenuity and diligent labor!! You have accomplished great things!! This is very encouraging to many of us. Things are going so wrong in the U.S. Our people have lost touch with wisdom and are destroying themselves. When a people fall away from God, this is what happens. They become fools and destroy their own society, families, and even themselves. We must return to faith in Chirst, God's Son. He is our hope of everlasting life beyond this dying world.

Yah (God's name) Bless You And Your Family,

Hello from northern Idaho USA. I really enjoyed reading about what you guys have done, how you did it and the processes it took all of you through. I have been messing around with Hydrogen Fuel Cells for a few years and still not able to make a small car run on it. When I was a young man, 30+ years ago I worked at a gas station an had a regular customer who would always come in with a vehicle that ran somehow on water or the hydrogen from it. I was young and never paid enough attention to the old guy that had it to understand how it worked. I have since stopped working with HHO for a while now and have been attempting to build one of these wood-gas burners for a small 1.3L 5spd car. There are a few Sawmills around our area still and the wood is plentiful. Keep up the good work and many blessings to you and yours! Mike :{)

Hi!
Very nice project and life philosophy indeed!

I have a technical question.
Is it possible to entirely rely on wood-gas without the use of batterygenerator, (i.e electricity) ?
Gas flows spontaneously yes.. but will it pass trough the filter without the help of a "fuel" pump? Also, this rules out gasoline based wood gas engines with spark plugs, so is it possible to convert a diesel engine to be totally independent of electricity in the car?

Keep up the good work! :)
Dave Townsend i Canada  110519 19:22
Wonderful natural energy source! - I wonder if you knew? - Japanese inventor "Honda" ran his first motorcycles on turpentine at the end of the second world war, since Japan had quotas on gasoline inports. He collected pine sap and distilled it into turpentine mix suitable for operation of a small engine. I was wondering if you couldn't just process the wood a little further, and make it all into a fuel for your car, without all the hastle of building a woodgas system?

Hallo

Appreaciate for the work you have put into this post, this helps clear up a few questions I had.
Dzintars i Latvia and USA  110403 12:25
One question of many: Did you check with state authorities whether driving the car was legal?

I could imagine that authorities--in Sweden and/or other countries--could deem the car to be "unsafe" or not complying with current safety standards, if only because it is unconventional compared with current vehicles.

Since the technology of gasification was used in vehicles in Sweden in the past, this may not be an issue there, but I'm guessing laws in other countries may raise problems.

This might be a question to discuss in future blog entries.

Again, many thanks for your work here! dz

hi guys!

excellent cars and blog, loved it!
you have my deepest respect and admiration for your time and effort, not only to build a wood gas car and tractor, but also for documenting it (long and troublesome with all the construction going) for all of us round the world who are interested in wood gas vehicles.

all i can say is a big "Thank You!"

i hope one day i'll have the possibility to construct my own wood gas car (even better, or tractor), when the situation allows it!

wood gas trucks are used in North Korea today. i don't know if they use coal or wood, but they do drive around on this tech.
anway, type "wood gas lorry", and have a look. truck is a copy of an older russian design.

i'm not sure if it's the right place to post this, but:
what do you think of "open top gasifier" suggested by FEMA? it has no air nozzles, the oxigen comes down from open top. it supposedly works, but i don't know if there is always enough oxigen coming down to the combustion zone....

also if you need translation of german texts, DO contact me and i'll be happy to translate it!

Hello from the middle of nowhere, better known as Okanogan, WA.

I used to work in the timber industry here, but the local plywood plant shut down. So now I'm back in college at the age of 44 and spending just enough time in the house as to drive a good woman crazy some days. But it's too cold to fish and my best friend is a tractor mechanic by trade and I seem to recall that not too long ago his dad had mentioned that the Germans used to run cars and light trucks on wood smoke.

This led to some searching on the Internet, which led to some photos of some restored "holzbrenners" and some plans for an ineffective looking little gassifer from FEMA that doesn't look like it could power a rototiller.

Which brought me to a good American site, which linked me to you guys.

Circutuous I know, but the point is I got here.

So before I take my beloved 1990 Ford F150 4x4 into the shop and start doing horrible things to its 4.9 liter inline six is there anything you would be kind enough to warn me about?

Don't know about Sweden, but in America it's customer to either start laughing really hard or perhaps warn the other guy BEFORE he fires up the cutting torch. :) (I'm just joking!)

Seriously though, I loved your project and would like to know more about how to make this happen. There is a lot of orchard in this part of the pacific northwest, so apple, cherry, pear, and other fruit woods are not hard to get. We also have a lot of native pine, aspen, poplar, and willow trees as well; and if burning cattle dung is a possibilitiy then there is a lot of that on local farms as well.

So any advice is appreciated.

Chuck
